Wisteria Purple Reinyarnations Reclaimed Yarn
This yarn began as a sweater I discovered at a second-hand store. Carefully unraveling it was a painstaking process that involved hours of weighing, measuring, and gently relaxing the yarn. The fiber composition is quite unique: 35% acrylic, 28% wool, 22% polyamide (a cousin of nylon), and 15% alpaca, resulting in an incredibly soft texture. Its construction is also distinctive—it's a blown thick-and-thin yarn, meaning it was made as a kind of tube with fibers blown into it. This makes it particularly responsive to steam blocking.
With a thickness of about 10 wraps per inch (wpi), this yarn falls into the Craft Yarn Council's standard weight of 4 - Medium, previously known as worsted weight yarn. The sample swatch shown was crocheted with a 5mm/H/8 hook. Each skein contains approximately 45-90 yards, slightly underestimated, for a total of around 350 yards. This is a unique batch, so if it catches your eye, be sure to purchase it before it's no longer available.
This listing is for the lot. Yarn will be sent in a twisted hank format, as depicted in the photos. If you prefer your yarn wound into a convenient cake, you can add my ball winding service to your order for a flat rate that covers all yarn in your purchase.
